The Yoai/Yuri Explanation

Many of my gallery visitors have probably noticed my -Yoai- and -Yuri- labels in front of specific titles.

This serves as a warning to those ppl who are oppose to seeing such things, or just want to find it quickly. I know that most of it is more shogo-ai and what ever the girl version is called, (feel free to give me the correct spelling for both) but using these shorter labels make it so I can fit it into the title in the first place. Which leads to my rant/confession;

Some angry and overly technical deviants will tell me that Yoai is nothing more then plotless sex-fest, and I know this, but I find it easier to generalize by using the term Yoai/Yuri.

So for the concern of technicality, here Yoai/Yuri can refer to any of the following;
-kissing
-hugging
-sweet moments (hand-holding, cute smiles, intimate looks, etc.)
-making-out, necking, tongueing, snogging, etc.
-making-out with nudity (notice the escalation)
-the use of suggestive clothing/movements/looks towards another character
-plotless sex-fest (though you probably won't see any of that here, sorry)
-or just homosexual relationships in general
(jeez, I feel like I'm typing out the rules of what qualifies as illegal PDA)

Ok, I don't know why I had to get that out for any other reason then to explain that I'm not naive to the finer details of the technical world . . . yeah.

well, I guess as a final note for those who are completely clueless;
Yoai-a homosexual relationship between guys
Yuri-a homosexual relationship between girls

Enough said,

This was something that someone else inspired, becosue I know the differince between yaoi and shogion-ai (I'm not sure I spelled that right) but I use yaoi as a sort of colective term for any form of man-homosexuality, BxB, boylove, etc.

Just kinda wanted to put this jurnal to explain that so I wouldn't look nieve to the more snide critics.

yeah . . .

I'll fill it out later.

yuri; my antidrug
yaoi; my passion

shoujo ai(girl) and shounen ai(boy) btw :]

the only reason i think at times it is important to specify is if it has a mature content filter on it (or for some other reason isn't at first viewable) because some people would be perfectly fine looking at it if it is only shoujo/shounen ai but wouldn't open it if it is marked yaoi/yuri because they will assume it is much more graphic.

but all that would do is loose you views so i dont know why people would get mad. lol unless they get really pissed if they are expecting porn and getting hand holding... im asuming they would look like this:

Well said Love. =3 And WeHippos already corrected the spelling I was going to point out, so, I guess the only thing I was going to say was that not ALL Yuri/Yaoi are plotless sex-fests. Only some, like with any genre of writing. *coughsouthernromancenovelscough* XD But yeah, Yaoi and Yuri just refer to the sexual actions between the two, whereas shoujo-ai and shounen-ai are when there are just non-sexual relations between the two.

Hope that helps, and, as always,

I love you. =3
